As per recently released data, Low cost carrier SpiceJet paid Rs 31 lakh as compensation during the month of July. The total compensation figure for all airlines in India stood at Rs 61 lakh.

Air carriers have to pay customers for delay of more than 2 hours or on account of cancellation. Compared to SpiceJet, Indigo and Go Air have not reported any cases of compensation on account of cancellation.

Go Air has managed to be on time for 93% of its flights compared to worst performer Air India with 75% on time flights.

Air India managed to increase passenger numbers in July compared to June while other air carriers witnessed decline.

India’s second largest low-cost carrier SpiceJet also acquired new fleet from Bombardier in August. The airline will connect tier II and III cities across India.
